Well i like the way this author has taken the story 'Step Up 2' back before the time we're actually shown in the original movie! It gives you a better idea of the characters background and also a better foundation on how they came to be, why they liked this person etc. etc... In the original story we don't discover a connection between Chase and Andie until later on in the story, so we're given a different timeline as to when they realise they're passing emotions for one another may be more than just a mere acquaintance...
